Liners for Ponds & Lakes
When a site won't hold water on its own, a liner is the right call. We assess the soils, recommend the material honestly, and remediate leaks on existing waterbodies. Liners can consist of native impermeable soils on property, adjuvant-adjusted soils, or synthetic style liners.
Some sites simply won't hold water. The soils are too permeable, or an existing pond is losing it through the bottom or a compromised dam. A properly specified liner solves that. First we read the soils and find the failure mode; the material and the approach follow from what turns up.
The soils work comes first because it decides which of the three answers your site gets. Where the property already carries impermeable soil, usually clay, the best liner is the one you already own: we find it, move it, and compact it into the basin. That keeps the basin earthen, with no material to import and nothing laid over the bottom that can be punctured later.
Where the soil is close but not tight enough on its own, it can be adjusted. An adjuvant is blended into the existing material so the basin seals, which again keeps the liner part of the earthwork rather than a product installed on top of it. Whether your ground is a candidate is a question the soil evaluation answers, not one we answer in advance.
A synthetic liner is the right call when the ground cannot be made to seal, or when a leak sits somewhere the dirt work cannot reach. It is the most involved of the three, and it earns its cost on a site that genuinely needs it. Specification, seaming, and protecting the material during and after installation are what make it work, so we treat those as part of the job rather than an afterthought.
Where we differ from a cheap liner quote is the order of operations. A number is easy to produce when nobody looks at the soils first, and that is also how a project ends up paying for material it never needed, or buying a material that was never going to hold on that ground. We evaluate, we tell you which of the three your site calls for, and we say so even when the answer is the least expensive one.
For an existing waterbody that's leaking, the same assessment drives the remediation: find where the water is going, then fix that, whether the answer is a liner, a dam repair, or both.
